Where to from here?: The leadership of PYA outside Peter Mokaba House in Polokwane discussing a way forward after the press conference
By America Ngwepe
The long and forgotten Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) in Limpopo has risen from nowhere and fingered those who are pushing their own agendas by supporting individuals in the "alienated" ANC Youth League.
During the press conference held today at Peter Mokaba House, the Provincial Deputy Chairperson of the Young Communist League (YCL), Mokgadi Mothema said they are aware about some populist individuals who assert themselves to be messiahs of the PYA in the media, projecting themselves as revolutionary representatives of the structure.
She said they had a bi/tri lateral meeting as structures in asserting the strength of the organizations and the challenges they are facing as the PYA.
Deeply concerned:YCL''s deputy chair, Mokgadi Mothema said they are deeply concerned about lunatic individuals
“We emerged with a positive decision after a through, robust and constructive engagement that binds every member of our alliance structure to adhere to the call to refrain from any activities that bring our alliance in to dispute” she said.
Mothema refused to divulge the names of the individuals but continues to indicate that there are some individual that use the media to advance their narrow selfish political agendas.
Limpopo-online understands that she was referring to Pat Makape, (the provincial secretary of YCL) who declared his support for Lehlogonolo Masoga to reconvene another conference on the local radios and newspapers.
She said they have no space in the movement because their conducts are hypocrites which smack the opportunist worst form of disorder and they do not have any space whatsoever in the alliance.
Her sentiments were echoed by Provincial Chairperson of COSAS, Tsebo Malatji when he indicated that their relationship with the ANCYL is revolutionary and historic and therefore it was not formed in the bedroom.
“Our relationship with Youth League is based on the program of action for the advancement of the National Democratic Revolution therefore, PYA has never taken any decision internally to support any individuals regarding the outcomes of the Youth League conference and those who went to the media claiming to represent our organization” Malatji said.
When responding about Lehlogonolo Masoga’s saga, Malatji was very quick to mention that the unguided conduct of “morena masoga” does not have any space in the movement and is divisive in nature and character and they are not going to the “reconvened conference” to be held at Sekhukhune in few weeks time.
This is a revolutionary house: Tsebo Malatji lambasting Masoga's behaviour during the press conference
PYA is the structure that is formed by SASCO, COSAS and YCL and our attempt to get Pat Makape’s comment were fruitless.
