Helping the poor: MEC Lekganyane will be building another house for the poor this week
Only a week after building a house for Rebecca Molepo at Ga Molepo during Mandela day, the MEC for Local Government and Housing, Soviet Lekganyane is set to continue where he left off by building another one for the vulnerable family at Motwaneng this week.
The building of the house is part of the “Youth build” a house campaign after the department of Local Government and Housing with its active role players embarked on its day to day mission of providing houses to the poor of the poorest in throughout the province, through the campaign.
The event entails handing-over of a fully built and furnished house to one of the indigents at Motwaneng, Elias Motsoaledi Municipality and the handing over include furniture as well as appliances donated by the department’s stakeholders.

MEC Lekganyane and Capricorn fm CEO, Simphiwe Mdlalose will hand over a house and donated items to Gadiale Sabeta Chego who is unemployed with four children who depend on the child support grant for survival.
Their lives are set to be altered for the family of five living in a one-roomed mud house and a shack.
This initiative is part of the nationwide “Media Build” project where members of the media fraternity together with officials of the national and provincial Department of Housing, build a house for selected beneficiaries and since the inception of the initiative, more than 30 houses have been built in the province
The department has seen more and more poor getting houses, security and comfort with over 82% of the people having access to electricity and 83% access to water, the department will continue to accelerate the delivery of these and other essential services.

MEC Lekganyane will be opening it from 51 painted houses, the Launching of Complete Housing Project and he will then hand over 200 units completed project before proceeding to a “youth build” a house.
