What kind of man dwells in a haven when the heavens call? What kind of woman cries for help when heavens bamboozles? What kind of man sings glory when powers are taken? What kind of woman resorts to tranquility when ties are broken? What kind of man celebrates a loss without liquids? What kind of woman dances to nothingness? South African soil has become a frigid stage; where freedom has doomed the free-bees! The marginalized few call it mockery, for it continues to abrupt the light in between tides from the living beings.
What kind of a mother leaves kids uncared for? What kind of a mother sings along with the rain? What kind of a mother smiles when pawns go apart? What kind of a mother cries, what kind of mother runs? For your basic needs were nothing but illusionary in to the public eyes! Those who smiled, cursed your pathways, but the greatest heard your closing word at dawn.

The TEETEE Events Management supported by the National Department of Arts and Culture is celebrating the 2010 spirit in Limpopo by bringing South Africa’s classical plays and contemporary works by internationally acclaimed artists to the Limpopo Province as well as the North West Province. As I write this piece, disgraced former police commissioner has just received a 15-year sentence for corruption. It is indeed a sad day for South Africa and the liberation movement that produced this distinguished cadre of the democratic movement. Made the country’s premier crime fighter as a honoured by his nation, Selebi had to the opportunity to serve his people with distinction. Instead, he chose to betray his country, his people and his party. He fell on his sword.
Like it or not, Limpopo is a great province. Since the unbanning of people’s organisations in 1990, the ANC Youth League has only had four presidents, two of them from Limpopo Province, viz, Peter Mokaba and Julius Malema. In a country with nine provinces you would expect Limpopo to get the presidency after eight conferences.
South Africa’s unofficial Minister of Music, the globally acclaimed legendary musician Pops Mohamed has rocketed the boundaries of his talents and his music with his latest fusion album ‘Society Vibes_Fast 4wrd>>’. The project, a symphony of spoken word infused with translucent beats that compel one to bond greatly with the faction.
Eric has never been my friend. We work in the same industry. In the decade that I have shared a social circle with Eric, our interactions have been limited to polite greetings and a few short conversations. Eric says his piece was inspired by what he heard on SAfm on the 18th May 2010 when I appeared on Karabo Kgoleng’s show. During the interview, several male listeners asked why I never affirm plus-sized men in the same way that I encourage self-acceptance amongst voluptuous women. I conceded to being biased and undertook to create messages in future that would embrace men and women alike.
The South African literary zone is tiny in its basement. Little do we that with the increasingly number of black people within the country feeling the thirst for literacy, there’s however, still a few gaps to be filled by our very own people. Most of us do read, but very few amongst ourselves take the time to write.
This practice, however, is all taken by
Africa ’s multi-award winning feminist artist who is yet to make it possible in the area. The African renaissance sister is yet to drop the bomb and her close allies will hopefully reveal the brand in due course.
What would you do when your mind and body chase the spirit? What would you when soul commands rest? How would you invest in your past’s future in presence of your of your future’s past? How would you relate to your to your associates after the long walks to freedom? How would narrate tales from a subconscious state to the forgoing universal tune? How would you ensure your legacy will be well honoured in trying times? What would you do when your kids cherish your presence when time has come for your rest? What would you do when nature is at your feet?
The city of Polokwane has once again given platform to well established narrators within the Capricorn District by the innovation of the Kwesukela 2010 storytelling project. What kind of being alienates itself from Afrika? What kind of being secludes itself from Afrika its roots? What kind of being praises colour, when humanity is shining transparently? What kind of being sings from the heart without tune when its mentors have come of age? Africans, South Africans, Limpopians, Polokwanians,
Africa
’s time has come, nako ela e fihlile. Thobela, Dumelang, Ralotsha, Nda, San’bona, Molo, Bonjour, Hola, Alo, Salut, Saludo, BegruBung, Gregge and etc. These are but some of the words we need to familiarize ourselves with as we’ll be exchanging when meeting with our counterparts.
Sometime last month Limpopo The Musical premiered what they called “Limpopo The Musical Theatre’ at the Library Gardens, Auditorium, Polokwane, City of Stars. It’s by far, if not far fetched, one of the greatest, most beautifull yet partly polished well researched dramatic ensemble the city of Polokwane has yet produced.
